Merry Christmas Everyone!!!

I’ve been on a cleaning spree this morning. Not your typical Christmas activity (CERTAINLY not my usual occupation on Christmas morning,) but we’re holding off on our celebrations til my mom arrives on Saturday. So, today I’ve cleaned two bathrooms, scrubbed the floors, vacuumed, washed windows, washed dishes, cleaned the stove, tidied bedrooms, dusted, dusted, dusted, and dealt with laundry. It might be atypical behaviour (in EVERY sense), but it’s made me feel accomplished and pleased with the state of our home. More or less.

And what more, I’ve chosen the grand winner of the ChristmasFuture Contest!!!

I’m about to dash out the door to Christmas Eve dinner with my friend H and her family. It going to be a fabulous evening; Santa (aka Big Daddy, aka H’s dad) is even going to put in an appearance.

t’s funny. The winning comments keep coming from the inaugural contest post. That is, the random integer generator keeps giving me numbers that correspond to the very early entries in the contest. But the numbers are also corresponding to frequent commenters. Curious.

We’re Getting There.

Getting to the end of our Christmas preparations. And getting to the end of the ChristmasFuture Contest.

On the prep front, I baked what turned out to be 9 dozen Spicy Molasses Cookies today. The recipe claimed to yield 18 cookies, so I doubled it… and came out with two shy of 9 dozen. Hmmmm… EcoKid had a brilliant time rolling the cookies in sugar (though a LOT of sugar made it into her mouth.) I had a great time watching the cracks form in the oven and then counting down the minute til removal. It’s the little things that make baking fun, ya know?

EcoKid completed the last of her Christmas crafts (oh, that I could say the same of myself!) She has worked long and hard on her creations; I hope they’ll be well appreciated by their recipients.
