Oops… Here Are Those Details I Promised…
Thanks for the kick in the pants, Monkey Butt’s Mom. Sometimes I get so caught up in feeling like puking my guts out that I forget to update the blog. Ahh, the great and many joys of pregnancy.
So, I’m closing in on 10 weeks preggers. I’m due either Jan 7th (officially) or Jan 12th (adjusted date based on my ultrasound.) The Kidlet arrived just before her official due date and my doctor in Edmonton tossed the adjusted due date. So I think I’ll expect this newby the first week of January.
Of course, we don’t know the sex yet but plan to find out as soon as we can. Those of you who know me know that I don’t like surprises, so if something can be known, I want to know it. I started out getting masculine vibes from the thing, but now all I can think about are girls’ names. Who knows.
Hmm… what other creepy little leech-related news can I offer? I’ve lost 2 kilos, almost five pounds, since my positive pregnancy test. I’m not puking my guts out (though I feel like it) so this is a bit confusing and distressing to me…
The Kidlet clearly doesn’t understand the whole baby-in-mummy’s-belly schtick, but can she really be expected to??? She is very baby positive and likes seeing other people’s babies, so I’m hoping that’s a good sign. Although, that said, she is incredibly jealous if I pick up someone else’s baby. She does not like that AT ALL. I guess time will tell. We have a great little wordless board book called My New Baby by Annie Kuebler that she really enjoys, so we’ll continue reviewing it with her and talking to her about babies and the new baby in particular.
Okay. Those are the details for now. It’s almost 9pm and I feel as if I’ve been flattened by a steamroller, so I’m heading for bed. If there are more and specific details you want, let me know in comments and I’ll be sure to answer either there or in a new post.
For now, I leave you. My bed is hailing me and I feel like utter crap.

A good book for the kidlet might be “That New Animal” by Emily Jenkins. It is my new favourite new baby book. And it’s told from the perspective of the family’s pet dogs. Who wouldn’t like that?
Ah, the fun of the early days! Fun stuff!
I also recommend I’m a Big Sister by Joanna Cole. We loved that one here.
Take care of yourself, mama!
I was not terribly pukey either, though I felt nauseous all of the time. That is not fun.
Get lots of rest (ha!) and drink lots of fluids.
Rock on little mama!
