Last Minute Gifts
I’m facebook freak. I log in multiple times every day. It’s how I stay in touch with my family and friends, concentrated in Canada and the UK, but scattered all around the world. It’s a fabulous thing. I won’t ever deny my love of that fine social networking site.
The past few days on facebook, I’ve noticed that lots and lots (I mean LOTS) of my contacts are fretting about finishing their Christmas shopping and are desperately searching for last minute gifts, stocking stuffers, and ideas about what to give the person who has everything.
Ladies and gentlemen, I am your Christmas Gift Fairy. I’m about to solve all your gifting needs.
Buy those people whose gift has thus far eluded you, those people who have everything (and therefore do NOT need anything more,) those people whose stockings you have to stuff something from this list of charitable gifts. It’s a gifting situation in which everyone comes out happy and satisfied.

uend: poverty (used to be ChristmasFuture, which you’ll remember from my giveaway last year.)
I’m buying EcoDad his gift from one of the above listed charitable gift sites. I can’ t decide what to get him
So… here’s where the fun comes in… I’m asking you to help me. Please visit the sites and tell me what you think I should get for EcoDad. You can look for him, buy for your own people…
And whoever finds and informs me of the PERFECT gift for EcoDad, well, I’ll get that person a gift too.
So make some suggestions. Help me out! And if you choose the item I end up getting for EcoDad, you’ll be getting a charitable gift this Christmas too!

wonderful sites Kim. As for EcoDad’s gift. My vote is classroom supplies for a school in Sierra Leone, from Gifts of Hope. As a professor and a dad, I imagine education for children is a cause close to his heart. Not sure of your budget, so if that is too spendy, my second choice would be a llama from Heifer Int’l. No reason, except that I like llamas and I think it’d be fun to say, “here honey, I got you a llama for Christmas.”
I vote for Heifer International, too. Maybe a basket of bunnies?
Since I live in a province that has a Polar Bear population, I think you should adopt a Polar Bear from the WWF. (tangent: the dad of an old school chum actually worked in a Polar Bear jail when she was a kid. She got to meet one up close and heavily sedated!)
I gave a few people World Vision gifts this year and they were very much appreciated.
Another friend of mine has lovely daughters who sold some old toys to raise money to buy World Vision gifts. I helped out by donating to her cause (and got a sweet toy for my kids)
I like the gifts from Plan Canada…
My top three:
1.) Birth Certificates, who knew?
2.) Home Birthing Kit
3.) Classroom Essentials
