Christmas Giving Update
Thank you all for your support on my December 6th initiative. Lots of you left comments. So we, together, have donated $22 to the Alberta Council of Women’s Shelters. Well, actually, I decided to round that number up to a nice, round $50. Thanks for your help and support!

Thank you also for helping me decide what to give EcoDad for Christmas. Didn’t all those charities have fantastic giving ideas? I loved your suggestions and I’d intended to go with the basket of bunnies suggestion… but then I recalled the sewing machine option with PLAN Canada.
And I thought, “perfect.” EcoDad remarked repeatedly on how much pleasure it gave him to see me sewing (and therefore enjoying myself) in the lead-up to Christmas. So the sewing machine seemed just right for him. And he was tickled pink for precisely the reason I imagined he would.
Since I didn’t use the suggestions of my super helpful readers, I couldn’t follow through on my commitment to give a charitable gift to the person who found the right gift. But you know, I really, REALLY appreciated and considered each suggestion I got. And each of you who gave suggestions had put time and energy into it. So I decided to send a mango tree to each of you. Thanks Sarah, Jenn, Jen, and Sb!

And my last update for this post is on the Jack and Will Went Up The Hill water project. In just a couple of weeks, this remarkable family surpassed their fundraising goal by thousands. Really, by THOUSANDS. Isn’t that amazing? They’re still going strong. Watch this space for one of their fundraising initiatives in January. I’m very excited to be a part of it! I hope you will be too!
