New Furniture. New Toilet Flushing System. Oh Joy!!!
Yup. Our toilet flushes in a whole different way now. It’s pretty exciting stuff. We push a button rather than pull a doo-hickey. And it works. And the Kidlet thought the plumber was all that and a bag o’ chips.
And our new couch and the Kidlet’s new bookshelf arrived. Right when she was meant to have her nap, so we had a miserable, nap-free day. But the couch is comfy and the bookshelf wonderful…
Here they are, in all their glory. The black leather job is the new couch. The red one is the old one.
In other exciting news, the Kidlet experienced her first lollipop today. It was given to her several weeks ago by her little pal Elif. And has since gathered dust in the kitchen cupboard. But today the poor sick Kidlet had to endure three up-the-nose saline treatments. And had to put up with Mummy washing the dishes and making soup and being generally unplayful because she had housework to get done, so she got her lollipop. And here is the result:

Ahh… it only LOOKS like hardwood! It’s actually laminate… so much easier to care for than real wood. My darling D had it installed just before the Kidlet and I arrved last year. He had the (old) couch and chairs recovered in that nice deep red fabric visible in the picture. What a lovely man! I should add though, that he didn’t clean up after the workers, so the place was newly upgraded but a dirty disaster when I arrived. Just in case anyone thought may life was tooooo good! Ha ha!
Yummm… lollipop! Baby K says she wants one too!
