And Life Goes On…
So. So. So…
So the computer was out of commission for almost two weeks. There was a bit of false hope at the mid point. It was returned to us with a declared repair that lasted all of two hours. Then there was a lot of grumbling (okay, swearing like furious bikers) from the EcoParent camp; I mean, the bus ride and walk to the repair shop in a less-than-pleasant part of town as a round trip is about three hours.
Anyway. The computer has had new life breathed into it in the form of a new hard disk. It seems to be working again. And, in entirely unrelated (but nonetheless exciting!!!) news, I am sewing a sleeve for it that I designed all by my lonesome.
Think not that this means the luck tide as turned. EcoDad is sick now. It’s just a cold. But you know, after the run of illness this family has seen lately, even a cold is like a kick in the teeth. Oh yeah, EcoKid also has mono. Poor little exhausted, sick tot.
We (the EcoChildren and I) fly off to Canada in three and a half weeks. Surely all the bad luck we’ve had in the past months means that our trip will be pain-free, right? My 22 hours of plane travel with two small children and no one to help me will be smooth sailing since we’ve done our time, right? I will survive this flight without EcoKid throwing up on me, right? Air Canada won’t lose our bags or screw us over as they’ve done every other time we’ve flown with them, right? (Please, please, please humour me here…)
I have piles of email to catch up on and I still need to re-install a bunch of software onto my machine. Once those thing are done(ish) I’ll get some pics of the EcoChildren and my recent crafting up on this little neglected blog.
And I have tales to tell. I narrate blog posts to myself in the mornings when I’m in the shower. I always fully intend to write them… but… well… But. Here’s hoping I can pull off a few posts before taking to the skies next month.
If you’ve not kicked me off your feed reader, drop me a comment to let me know I haven’t lost you. I promise to do better, my faithful readers. Fewer buts. More posts. M’kay?

Computer issues are a pain. We had to get a new hard drive in ours recently. Just glaad we did it before our old one totally died so we didn’t lose anything!
I am sure your trip will be fabulous mama!

I’m still here! OMG mono. Kim! We just had a broken foot this weekend (Will) — and let me tell you, mono trumps that. Take care. Count down the days and they will come soon.
Haven’t lost me. Glad to hear that most of you are feeling better!
I still have you in my reader, and actually read the posts too. Sorry about the mono, how long will she suffer from that?
Hope she’ll be at least a bit better before you travel!
Wilma´s last blog post..Trying to get sharper shots.
Thanks everyone.
EcoKid is a trooper. We were shocked that the blood test came back positive as she’s not doing nearly so badly as one would imagine a mono-stricken child to be. Hopefully she’ll be over it before we head to Canada. It’s not a quick virus though… so fingers crossed!

I didn’t know a 3yr old could get mono…wow! Hope her ailment is a short one…and glad to have you back. When I lost my laptop my entire motherboard fried…literally, so I understand the pain! Thankfully my hard drive was intact so I managed to save all my stuff.
